Leverton Monitor Farm: Launch and summer farm walk
Join us for the launch of the Leverton Monitor Farm hosted by Joe Vickers.
Join us on-farm for a look at the cropping for harvest 2024. Joe Vickers will be hosting the farm walk and discussion around his business.
The event is free to attend, but please register to allow us to cater for you accordingly. BASIS and NRoSO points will be available.
This event will cover
Joe and his team farm 1,500 ha across 4 farms growing combinables for milling, malting and feed as well as potatoes and sugar beet.
Everyone attending this meeting will have the chance to feed into the programme at the beginning of their Monitor Farm journey.
We will identify key local issues and topics of interest to cover in the upcoming winter season’s meetings and workshops.
During the farm walk, we will be looking at the current crops as well as discussing:
- Approaches to cultivation and soil management
- Baselining soil carbon
- Home-saving seed and early crop nutrition
- Reducing synthetic inputs: Focus on fungicides and NUE
- Grazing cover crops
Please bring suitable footwear and clothing for a field walk.
