Huggate Monitor Farm meeting: Rules and regulations - How to balance for the future

Please join Gary Shipley at Huggate Wold Farm in East Yorkshire, for the second meeting of the winter season, to discuss the rules, challenges, opportunities, solutions and incentives for discussing and planning a long term strategy to water quality and what contribution agriculture is making to this.

10.20 Iain Mcdonell, EA - The place to start is with local water quality data; what is the picture in our region, Is nitrate and/or phosphate an issue in the catchment?  

10.30 James Holmes and Georgina Key, AHDB Scientists, will discuss how to optimise the use of nutrients. They will run through a series of simple steps you can take, beginning with assessment of soil health, to ensure nitrogen is used efficiently, you remain profitable and impact on the environment is minimised. 

12.20 Andrew Smithson, CSF –  A guide on incentives and specialist advice  available to improve water and air quality through good soil health and nutrient management
