Join AHDB, NFU, Peak Farmers Group and Bagshaws for an in-depth discussion about the halal market and its growing importance to the sheep sector.

The meeting will cover:

  • What halal means and why it is an important part of the Muslim communities’ dietary requirements
  • Dispelling myths around how the sector operates, giving confidence to farmers wanting to capitalise on the market
  • Cutting a lamb to halal specification, demonstrating what the market requires and how the Muslim community is changing to utilise the carcase in different ways
  • What resources are available to levy payers and how we are supporting the industry

Speakers include:

  • Dr Awal Fuseini, AHDB Halal Sector Manager
  • Martin Eccles, AHDB Trade Butcher
  • Emma Steele, AHDB Beef and Lamb

We are grateful to Andrew Critchlow (NFU), Jane Bassett and Alice Morley (Peak Farmers Group) and Alastair Sneddon (Bagshaws) for their partnership with hosting the meeting. We hope you can make it.
