7:00pm - 9:15pm

The Spring Lamb, Shrewsbury Road, Oswestry, Shropshire

SY11 4QA

Join AHDB, Brownlow and Park Issa Farm Vets at The Spring Lamb, Oswestry, to understand more about the Halal market and its growing importance to the sheep sector.

While this meeting will focus on lamb and sheep meat, beef can also be discussed.

Dr Awal Fuseini, AHDB Halal Sector Manager, will cover what Halal means along with how and why lamb is such an important part of Muslim communities' dietary requirements.

He will dispel some of the myths around how the sector operates, giving confidence to farmers who want to capitalise on this growing market.

Martin Eccles, AHDB Trade Butcher, will then cut half a lamb to Halal specification demonstrating what the Halal market requires and how the Muslim community is changing to utilise the carcase in different ways.

Emma Steele, AHDB Beef and Lamb, will be facilitating the meeting and be available to talk about how you can use AHDB tools on your own farms and how we are supporting the industry.

We are grateful to Jon Mayer (Park Issa Vets) and Elaine Russell (Brownlow Vets), both part of IVC Farm Vets, for their partnership hosting the meeting.

Who should attend?
