Downpatrick Monitor Farm Final Meeting
You are invited to join us at the Downpatrick Monitor Farm for the final summer meeting hosted by Richard Orr.
We look forward to welcoming you to catch up on what has been happening at the monitor farm since we last met, and this season so far, as well as to have a look at the cropping for harvest 2022.
Discussions will include:
- Cultivation try out – we will revisit the cultivation try out with Philip Wright (Wright Resolutions Ltd.) and look at the impact of different cultivation techniques through the rotation
- Clover – we will discuss the option of using clover living mulch to fix nitrogen for the cereal crops through the 5 year rotation
- Fungicide use – Richard has been looking at reducing inputs, and we will look at the impact of reducing the use of fungicides on this year’s crops
- Fertiliser Use – with fertiliser prices still being high, we will discuss the impact of high prices on budgets
- SWOT – we will have a look at where the business is at the end of the monitor farm journey
