We look forward to welcoming you to Shimpling Park Farm where we will be joining Richard Ling, Matt Redman and our host, John Pawsey, for a farm walk and discussions around organic and regenerative farming, growing novel crops and reintroducing livestock into an arable rotation!
About Shimpling Park Farm
Shimpling Park Farm is managed organically and comprises of 650 hectares of arable land, 20 hectares of agroforestry and 1,000 New Zealand Romney breeding ewes (reintroduced in 2014) on Hanslope series chalky boulder clay. The Pawsey family farm an additional 980 hectares under farm management contracts. They grow an array of legumes and cereals as well as some speciality crops. Diversification on the farm includes an HLS Scheme, rentals, specialist machinery sales and renewable energy projects.
What will this meeting cover?
Richard Ling and Matt Redman, our Monitor Farmers, and John Pawsey, our host, will discuss:
- Organic and regenerative farming: how do we change our mindset and what can we all learn?
- Agroforestry, livestock and novel crops: biggest opportunities in the East?
Registration, lunch and refreshments will be available from 12:30 with presentations commencing at 1:15. The event is free to attend, but please register to allow us to cater accordingly and advise us of any special dietary requirements.
Please bring suitable footwear & clothing for a field walk.
BASIS and NRoSO points will be available for attending.
