Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is considered one of the greatest global threats to human health, and within farming practice making sure we use antibiotics responsibly on farm is critical.

Pneumonia costs the UK cattle industry £50m annually, with financial losses from mortality, loss of production, antibiotic use and labour, not to mention the unseen stress it causes on farm.

Taking a holistic approach to reducing its occurrence on farms is needed to tackle this multifactorial disease.

The use of NSAIDs as part of treatment has been shown to help improve recovery rates. Still, we must not forget our cow and colostrum management, herd health, environment and nutrition, which can affect a calf’s ability to thrive and avoid disease. Prevention is better than the cure.

Join us on this webinar to hear from Dr Tim Potter from Vet Partners as we discuss:

  • Why antimicrobial reduction is important
  • Responsible use of antibiotics and efficacy of treatments
  • The role of anti-inflammatory in pneumonia treatment
  • Stress factors for calves and how to avoid them
  • A multifactorial approach to avoiding pneumonia on farm

This webinar is part of our pneumonia campaign, helping you and your calves breathe easier this winter.

If you can’t make it to the live event, you can still register to receive a recording and links to resources after the event.
