Join us for the Agronomy roadshow to hear the latest news in agronomy across Scotland. 

The meeting will cover:

  • An evidence-based approach to productive and sustainable arable systems
  • The morning sessions will cover the latest updates from the Recommended List and varieties performance. Plus, updates on the latest agronomy and IPM
  • The afternoon sessions will include business and market intelligence and a review of our Strategic Farm project. The day will finish with a workshop on the benefits of different agroecological approaches

  • 10:00am New breeding policies for cereals and oilseeds, Jenna Watts (AHDB)
  • 10:30am Crop selection and variety performance, Steve Hoad (SRUC)
  • 11:00am Optimising fungicide inputs, Fiona Burnett (SRUC)
  • 11:30am Adding innovation and evidence to integrated practices, Neil Havis/Henry Creissen (SRUC)
  • 12:00pm What have we learned from the Strategic Farms? Henny Lowth (AHDB)
  • 12:30–1:30pm Lunch and networking session

1:30–2:30pm Business and policy

  • 1:30pm Market update and selling strategies, Julian Bell (SAC)
  • 2:00pm Scottish Agricultural Policy update, Eleanor Kay (Scottish Land and Estates) 

Biodiversity workshop

  • 2:30–3:30pm Practices to enhance biodiversity: What are the benefits of different agroecological approaches and what are you trying to improve? Lorna Cole (SAC)
  • 3:30pm Final questions and chair’s closing message
  • 3:45 Close

There will be opportunities to ask questions after each session. Lunch is provided, and there will be excellent chances to network and speak to the presenters.  

Registration and refreshments will be available from 9:30am, with presentations commencing at 9:55am. 

BASIS and NRoSO points will be available for attending.

The event is free to attend, but please register to allow us to cater accordingly.
