Past Event - booking closed

10:45am - 2:30pm

Moss House Farm, Moss House Lane, Westby, Lancashire

PR4 3PE

Join us at this meeting, part of our Confident Strides series, to learn how to take steps to enhance your herd’s mobility while cows are housed and boost your profits and public perception at the same time.

Lameness is expensive, incurs additional time and treatment costs, and ultimately leads to lower yields and shorter cow productive lifespans.

This event offers practical, actionable ideas that you can implement on your farm to improve cow welfare, even when time and resources are tight.

You will hear from mobility mentor, Sara Pedersen, who will share best practices to enable you to identify and apply the right solutions for your cows.

You will also learn how progress has been made at Moss House Farm.

This event will cover

  • The key factors affecting the mobility of housed cows
  • Managing cows on concrete
  • Practical ideas for reducing lameness, including footbathing and trimming protocols
  • Safe cow movement through feed, handling and housing areas
  • The benefits of the Healthy Feet Programme and lessons to take from Moss House Farm

If you want to create a future where your cows move with confidence and ease, leading to happier and healthier lives, then this event is for you.
