You are invited to join us for the first Huggate Monitor Farm of the season!

We look forward to welcoming you to catch up with Gary Shipley, as we enter his final winter season as a monitor farmer. We kick off the first meeting by looking at whether it pays to move away from artificial nitrogen and what alternatives are out there.

What will this meeting cover?

Rob Beaumont (Edaphos): Managing plant health to maximise margins.

  • Results from the Huggate Monitor Farm 2022 biostimulant trial.
  • Using biology and nutrition over fungicides.
  • What alternative chemistries are available, and do they work?
  • Living mulches.

Mark Topliff (AHDB): Does it pay to lower nitrogen?

  • Demonstrating the AHDB Nitrogen Adjustment Calculator.
  • The impact of rising input costs on Farm Bench figures past, present, and future.

Registration and refreshments will be available from 10:30 with presentations commencing at 10:50 and lunch will be provided.

BASIS and NRoSO points will be available for attending.

The event is free to attend, but please register to allow us to cater accordingly.
