Alex Ansell

Alex started off her career as a gardener and studying for a BSc Horticulture. She then moved into Agriculture, undertaking a PhD in the variable rate application of fungicides in winter wheat at Cranfield University. This multidisciplinary project, looked to unite the different areas of research, including: the latest technology, spray deposition, field variation, the use of satellite imagery and the cost. During this time, Alex was a student board member for the Institute of Agricultural Engineers.

Alex has since worked for the Animal and Plant Health Agency, as a plant and seed health inspector, and taken a year out of industry to work as a data analyst. In May 2023, Alex joined the Cereals and Oilseeds team at AHDB.
