The UK Dairy Carbon Network, led by AHDB and AgriSearch, is an innovative project bringing together dairy farms from across the UK to explore and implement practical solutions aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Through collaboration, research and real-world testing, the work will deliver valuable insights that strengthen farm resilience and benefit the wider industry.

What is the UK Dairy Carbon Network?

  • An innovative new project recruiting 56 dairy farms from across the UK
  • Selected farms will select, trial and assess measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions over three years
  • The range of options will focus on land and animal-based solutions and precision technologies will be utilised when relevant
  • Each farm will receive a tailored action plan and 1:1 support and a farm liaison officer

How will the project work?

  • 56 farms participating in one of four farm networks in Northern Ireland, Cumbria and south-west Scotland, north-west England and south and south-west England/Wales
  • A tailored action plan to ensure selected strategies are suited to each farm
  • Provide financial support for active participation
  • Access to networking events and knowledge-exchange meetings
