Project details
The aim of this project was to provide help in the decision making process when considering new technologies for dairy farm businesses. In addition to reviewing some new technologies the report provided a method for considering how a technology might fit into a farm system including profitability, practicality and the impact on cow welfare and the environment. The main objectives of the project were:

• Available technologies to improve efficiency in farm activities and ultimately in profitability are described
• The implementation of these technologies is assessed and ways in which management maybe aided. The profitability and impact of each is analysed whilst carrying out a cost benefit analysis.
