Isaac Huerta

Isaac is originally from Manresa in Catalonia and received his Professional Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Zaragoza. He then completed a Masters in Swine Management and Health in 2008.

Isaac’s career started at Nutreco’s (animal nutrition) research centre in the Netherlands, before moving to Mexico to lead a field trial.

In 2010, he joined Magapor as Head of Technical Services for North America. Magapor is a Spanish company dedicated to the design, development, manufacture and distribution of technology for swine artificial insemination. Here Isaac helped to implement post cervical artificial insemination in several farms across USA and Canada.

Isaac also ran several trials in porcine AI studs and published the results in peer-reviewed magazines and at international conferences.

In 2013, he moved back to Spain and joined Elanco Animal Health as the Technical Leader for the northeast of Spain. Here he ran antibiotic efficacy trials and evaluated lung lesions in abattoirs.

Most recently Isaac joined PIC, initially as Technical Services Manager for Southern Europe where he supported many of the large integrated Spanish operators as they grew their systems. In June 2020, he became Technical Services Director for PIC Europe.
