Environmental roadmaps
Setting out a route to a sustainable future for British agriculture.
Tackling climate change is arguably the most pressing global issue of our time. The next few years are seen as a crucial time for action across the whole economy, including agriculture.
These roadmaps represent the environmental ambitions and commitments made by our agricultural sectors. They aim to improve the environmental sustainability of British agriculture while ensuring the continued prosperity of their sectors.
The roadmaps support the UK’s target to achieve net zero by 2050 and to limit global temperature rise to 1.5°C under the Paris Agreement.
The Beef and Lamb Roadmap
This sets out the environmental ambitions for the sector in England and Wales.
The roadmap group has established the starting position of the Beef and Lamb sector with the intention of rapidly building upon this work throughout 2025 and beyond.
The Dairy Roadmap
This has run continuously since 2008. It is led jointly by AHDB, Dairy UK and the NFU and with the support of Defra and other industry stakeholders.
It has a range of evidence-based environmental targets, building on the many industry improvements already achieved.
The Pork Roadmap
The Pork Roadmap group has been recently established, with industry stakeholders meeting regularly to determine the aims and ambitions for the English pork sector. We look forward to sharing further information with you when it becomes available.
