Pourya Davoudi

Pourya joined AHDB in 2025 as a Geneticist within the Animal Breeding & Product Quality team, where he works across both beef and sheep sectors.

He holds a PhD in Animal Genomics and has expertise in quantitative genetics and computational biology. His background includes academic and applied research in genetic evaluation, genomic prediction, and investigating the genetic basis of economically important traits such as growth and feed efficiency in livestock species.

Prior to joining AHDB, Pourya worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at SRUC on the “Growth Resilience to Weather Variation in African Indigenous Chicken” project.
