Up until April 2023, Mark was Pig Supply Chain Director of Pilgrims Pride Ltd., where he led a team that worked closely with all elements of the British pigmeat supply chain including farmers, hauliers, abattoirs, retailers and external bodies such as the Food Standards Agency.

He has worked in the UK pig processing sector since 1998 when he started at the Geo Adams & Sons Ltd. abattoir in Spalding, initially as a livestock buyer before the company was bought out by Tulip and subsequently Pilgrim’s Pride.

Between 2010 & 2023, Mark also sat on the Red Tractor Pig Sector board helping to represent the interests of the UK processor and producer in the ever-changing world of legislative and consumer requirements.

Find out more about Mark's background, his thoughts on some of the challenges facing the sector and why he wanted to join AHDB’s Pork Council.
