Emily’s passion for farming started at school and, while studying agriculture at Hartpury College, quickly centred on pigs. After college, Emily spent time working on both pig and dairy farms in the UK. Totally hooked and wanting to broaden her experience, Emily travelled to Nebraska, USA, to work on a 7,000-sow herd. On her return, she worked at Countrywide Farmers as a Suitably Qualified Person (SQP), achieving Companion SQP of the year in 2015. Emily then returned to Hartpury College as a livestock technician in 2016, where she helped to manage a large herd of farmed red deer.

In 2018, Emily joined AHDB as Skills Development Officer (Pork), continuing her passion for working in the pig industry. In October 2020, she became the Knowledge Exchange (KE) Manager for the north of England, working alongside KE Relationship Manager Sam Bradley.
