Animal Health Knowledge Exchange Manager (South West Wales) - Rheolwr Cyfnewid Gwybodaeth Iechyd Anifeiliaid (De Orllewin Cymru)
Anna joined AHDB Dairy in 2018, having previously worked as a dairy consultant. She covers SW Wales for the HerdAdvance project and is an accredited mobility scorer and Mastitis Control Plan deliverer. As part of the project she runs the West Wales based Farmer Focus Group.
Anna has an MSc in Sustainable Agriculture and Food Security from the Royal Agricultural College in Cirencester and is a FACTS qualified advisor. She lives in South Ceredigion with her partner and together they contract farm 300 spring calving cows. Anna completes budgets and data analysis as well as providing relief labour and weekend work through calving and breeding.
Anna is a 2021 Nuffield Scholar looking at the topic, “Can the UK improve the ethics of its dairy calf management whilst retaining profitability”, kindly sponsored by the Elizabeth Creake Charitable Trust and a Young Nuffield Award.
She is a fluent Welsh speaker and grew up on a pedigree Holstein farm in Carmarthenshire.
