Andrew Warne

Andy Warne was Managing Director of National Milk Records plc (NMR) for over 20 years, stepping down in 2023 to follow his interests.

Andy is positive about the prospects for UK dairy, as illustrated by the inward investment by UK milk processors, but has a thorough understanding of the environmental and commercial challenges that face the sector. He believes that AHDB has a key role to play in navigating these challenges.

Andy’s particular interest is huge benefit genetics can bring to UK farmers in terms of economic and environmental sustainability. Andy chairs the AHDB Genetic Advisory Forum (GAF) which is the link between farmers, genetics companies and genetics consultants with the AHDB genetic and genomics team. GAF sets the agenda for driving genetic progress in the UK dairy industry.
