Survey to assess Covid-19 impact on ornamentals

Tuesday, 21 April 2020

The ornamentals sector has been significantly affected by the fallout of the Covid-19 pandemic and we are yet to see what the full impact will be.

We are supporting the HTA to collate data to fully assess the impact that Covid-19 has had on the ornamentals sector.

There have been calls from across the sector to the government for assistance and whilst they are aware of some individual cases, there is currently no method available to the government to fully assess what the impact is and has been to the ornamental sector so far.

We are asking all professional ornamentals businesses to please complete this survey:

The survey closes at 10pm on Wednesday 22 April 2020

The HTA survey will ask you some sensitive financial information on the impact of the coronavirus on your business. Please be assured that all data will be treated in full accordance with GDPR and completely confidentially. If you feel that you are not best placed to provide this information for your business, then please forward this invitation to the colleague you feel will be most able to respond for your business.

Your information will only be used by the HTA for the sole purpose of providing a realistic overview of the ornamental industry, so that the government can be fully informed on the matter and any considerations that they undertake will be based on current and real-time data. Individual responses will not be identified or reported to government.

We are also working with the NFU on this and you may have completed the survey as an NFU member. As long as your business has responded to the survey your data will be counted.

If you have any questions about the survey, please contact David Denny at the HTA (
