At a glance
- There has been some lifting progress around the country this week. However, it has remained very slow and the material coming out of ground will be of questionable quality.
- Later-lifted material in store is starting to show further problems. Some stores are seeing further increased rots and breakdown causing some growers to move material sooner than anticipated.
- Trade is generally steady with chipping demand usually subdued in January. Packers and processors seem to be mostly working off contracted supplies leaving limited room for free-buy trade.
