The sweet potato market

The longer-term growth of the sweet potato market is showing signs of slowing, with its overall size versus standard potatoes being small. As with standard potatoes, the need for convenience is growing frozen and chilled ranges longer term, but lower perceptions for sweet potatoes in terms of versatility and ease, coupled with a higher price, may be hindering the market momentum. Standard potatoes, therefore, have an opportunity to communicate existing benefits as well as address health perceptions.
