Bud the Spud, star of our Potatoes: More than a bit on the side campaign, has joined the MOB. That's the MOB kitchen, the online cooking channel popular with students and millennials.
In the latest of a series of partnerships with food bloggers and vloggers who influence young people and the food they cook, he teamed up with MOB Kitchen to produce three exclusive hasselback potatoes recipes.
The MOB Kitchen, in their own words:
Set up by Benjamin Lebus, Mob Kitchen is an online publishing company producing one-minute “how-to,” food videos.
These are food videos with a difference though. No food porn. No molten, double deep fried cheese. No triple chocolate brownies drowned in peanut butter.
WE MAKE FOOD YOU WILL ACTUALLY COOK.
We believe anyone can make delicious, healthy, beautiful food on a budget.
Every recipe in our first series of videos feeds 4 people for under £10.
Check them out here: http://www.mobkitchen.co.uk/
The recipes were posted on social media, where MOB Kitchen is popular. On Instagram the recipe is closing in on 2,000 likes.
Overall campaign success
Meanwhile, the results are in on the last three years of Bud's More than a bit on the side campaign - and it is great news. We've achieved 5 million visits to www.lovepotatoes.co.uk and a social media reach of nearly 1 million. This has resulted in more people from our target audience, young women, seeing potatoes as healthy AND an essential part of their diet. At the same time, sales of potatoes have gone up, for the first time in decades - talk about a healthy return on investment!
