Disinfecting irrigation water for fresh produce: webinar

We are hosting a series of webinars to help growers keep fresh produce free of pathogens that cause human illness.

The second of three webinars heard how work in Spain has measured chlorate levels in a spinach crop that was irrigated with chlorine dioxide treated water. It also covered information about the accumulation of disinefection by-products from electrolysed water.

Watch again here:

1.35 – 2:05 - Chlorine dioxide dosing of irrigation water impacts on the chlorate load in outdoor spinach

Ana Allende, Senior Researcher, CEBAS Spain

2.05 – 2.35 -Irrigating with electrolysed water impacts on ‘disinfection by-products’ accumulation in glasshouse-grown baby leaf lettuce

Mabel Gil Muñoz, CEBAS Spain

2:35 – 2:50 - Question & Answer Session
