AHDB Cereals & Oilseeds Sector Board Member (Producer)
Mark was born in Yorkshire to non-farming parents. He studied an HND in agriculture at Harper Adams and worked at various farms until he became the farm manager at Clay Farms in 2003. Clay Farms is an arable and beef estate farm, currently around 1,214 ha. The arable is mainly combinable crops – feed wheat, oilseed rape, milling oats, micronizing peas and feed barley. Mark set up and runs a commercial grain store. He hosted the first AHDB Monitor Farm in Hereford, and is now a member of the steering groups for the new Hereford Monitor Farm and the Strategic Cereal Farm West. Mark lives with his wife and black Labrador and has a keen interest in rugby.
