Biography: Emily is Senior Knowledge Transfer Manager for the Cereals & Oilseeds sector and is responsible for providing technical input and industry insight into knowledge exchange and research programmes. She works closely with both the regional Knowledge Exchange and cross-sector research teams to establish and communicate the application of research on farms. Her work involves coordinating the demonstration of research outputs across the Strategic Cereal Farm and Monitor Farm programmes.
Emily grew up on a family farm in Worcestershire before studying Geography & Environmental Management at University of Exeter and completing a PhD at Harper Adams University, where she investigated the impact of agricultural traffic and tillage on soil physical properties and crop yields. After lecturing in Soil & Water Management at Harper Adams University, Emily joined AHDB in 2015.
Emily is passionate about supporting farmers to overcome barriers to business improvement through the use of effective on-farm trialling and the integration of research on commercial farms. Her areas of interest include soil and water management and integrated pest management.
