In the week ending 18 November, the GB liveweight NSL SQQ averaged 209.36p/kg, up on the previous week by almost 5p. The measure is now 23p above the price achieved for the same week last year, and nearly 38p above the 5-year average. Market reports suggest prices continue to be supported by increasing demand.

Total throughput fell notably on the week by 18,400 head (-14%), to 109,100 head. This was significantly lower on the year too, down by 27,400 head (20%) when compared to the same week in 2019.

The GB NSL deadweight SQQ averaged 462.9p/kg in the week ending 14 November, up an impressive 15p on the week before. This measure continues to trend high on the year, up in excess of 55p on the same week in 2019, and around 79p above the 5-year average.

Estimated slaughter at British abattoirs increased on the week by 13,200 head (5%), to stand at 265,900 head. This figure is also 5% (-13,000 head) below numbers put forward for the same week last year.
